The Topline Group (trading name of Amalgamated Hardware PLC) is the leading DIY/ Building Materials Buying group in Ireland, with over 90 affiliated members who independently own and operate more than 160 stores nationwide. These businesses, many family owned, are local and loyal - like it ought to be.
While others have become too large and impersonal, at Topline our members strive to remain locally embedded and relevant – true to their heritage. Our oldest member – J.McCreary & Son, Killygordon, Co. Donegal, are serving customers since 1826. Like all our members, they understand the business and they understand the importance of looking after their customers!
Our history
Founded in 1972 by a small group of hardware merchants struggling to compete with larger competitors, Topline changed the DIY/Building Materials landscape by allowing independent merchants to purchase products at the lowest possible prices.
The benefits of bulk buying at group level, enables our members to pass on competitive prices to their trade and non-trade customers.
